Vecindario, October 24th, 2026.
Centro Comercial Atlántico celebrated its 26th anniversary with a big party in Vecindario, the perfect finale to a month packed with activities, shows and plans for the whole family to enjoy. The celebration was attended by the Mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García, and the Town Council’s Councillor for Commerce, Verónica Suárez, who joined the shopping centre on such a special date.
The festivities kicked off with a pirates and mermaids show for younger audiences, turning the anniversary into a fun-filled experience for the little ones. Music took centre stage in the final stretch with a performance by Yamilei Cruz and the mariachi band, who brought the curtain down on a celebration full of entertainment, festive atmosphere and family spirit.
A centre tied to the growth of Vecindario
During the event, the Mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García, highlighted the role the shopping centre has played in the evolution of the municipality and the development of Vecindario. “CC Atlántico is one of the infrastructures that grew alongside the municipality of Santa Lucía. To some extent, this centre helped Santa Lucía move from being a large town to becoming a city, mainly here in Vecindario,” he said.
García also praised the collaboration between the public and private sectors over the years, particularly on initiatives to boost local commerce and improve safety, as well as the centre’s support for the municipality’s cultural, sports and charitable groups. “These are not just words of congratulation, but also of gratitude for everything they have done to improve living conditions in Vecindario,” said the mayor, who underlined CC Atlántico’s close ties with the civil society of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
26 years of history and new challenges ahead
For his part, the director of Centro Comercial Atlántico, Alberto Medina, spoke of the satisfaction of reaching this milestone and the importance of continuing to evolve to meet visitors’ needs. “Reaching 26 years of history is a source of pride, but also an opportunity to look to the future, adapt to new times and keep improving. There are still challenges ahead, and we face them with enthusiasm, commitment and, above all, together with you,” he said.
Medina stressed that the centre’s goal goes beyond its commercial activity: “Our aim is for this space to remain a place where people don’t just come to shop, but also to enjoy themselves, share and live new experiences. A welcoming, dynamic and accessible space that keeps making its offer more and more attractive.” The director also thanked all the people and organisations that have helped consolidate the project over these 26 years, with a special mention for retailers, operators, the technical team and partners, as well as the customers who visit the centre and are part of its history.
With this celebration, Centro Comercial Atlántico brings to a close an anniversary month marked by its seafaring theme, entertainment and family participation, reaffirming its commitment to Vecindario and to a way of understanding retail as a place for meeting, coexistence and shared experiences.
